ENGINEERING AND STATION CHEMIST OPPORTUNITIES
The Darling Downs Power Station is currently under construction and will have the latest low emission technology. The plant will consist of three gas turbines with a capacity of 120MW each and a steam turbine of 270MW and will be the biggest combined cycle power station in Australia. The station will produce enough power to supply the equivalent of 400,000 Queensland homes. There are exciting opportunities available that will form the Engineering Team ensuring efficient plant operations along with total commitment to safe work practices and the environment. Station ChemistThe Station Chemist will be responsible for the chemistry and environmental activities associated with the operation and maintenance of the Darling Downs Power Station. The principal accountabilities of the role will include provision of expert chemistry support to the operation and maintenance teams, implementation of the water treatment, chemical dosing, sampling and monitoring program and coordination of the environmental monitoring and reporting for the power station. You will have a Degree qualification in Science, Industrial Chemistry or Chemical Engineering. Extensive experience as a Chemical Engineer in a Power Station environment will be highly regarded. Electrical EngineerThe Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the engineering associated with the operation and maintenance of electrical, instrumentation and control plant and equipment at the power station. The principal accountabilities of the role will include provision of expert electrical and I&C engineering support to the operation and maintenance teams, implementation of the electrical testing and condition monitoring program plus investigation of unusual technical issues and the provision of suitable corrective measures. You will have an Electrical Engineering Degree and have proven experience in heavy process industry and previous Power Industry experience will be highly regarded. Mechanical Engineer (Graduate)Learn from the best, and build a career with the guidance and support you deserve. Working with our Engineering Leader, you will contribute your skills to the operation and maintenance of the mechanical plant and equipment at the Darling Downs power station. Look forward to assisting with the implementation of a machinery testing and condition monitoring program, as well as a pressure equipment management program.
